Our three attorneys – Timothy Earle Pujol, Matthew William Pryor, and Barbara L. Irwin -- With over 50 years of combined legal experience, litigating at the highest levels of our judicial systems and being precedent setting litigators, our three attorneys meet, if not surpass all of the large Baton Rouge and New Orleans firms, but with unparalleled service to the client. Our accomplishments are a testimony to our hard work and diligence.
Matthew W. Pryor is the Managing Partner at Pujol, Pryor & Irwin. Born on July 18, 1969, to a naval officer, Matthew spent his childhood traveling around the world from one duty port to another. The vastness of his experience, and coming from a family to whom service to our country was paramount (grandfather a WWI veteran, father a 40-year Naval officer, and brother a 20-year Air Force office-holder), has shaped Matthew’s career to service his clients and the community.
Graduating from High School in 1988 in New Orleans, Matthew received a Bachelor’s of Criminal Justice from LSU in 1992. In 1995, Matthew was awarded a Juris Doctor from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at LSU.
He immediately began practicing law. His career since has focused exclusively on litigation. Matthew has thousands of hours in the courtroom and has tried hundreds of cases. He has successfully represented his clients in the state and federal district courts of Louisiana, the Louisiana appellate courts, and the Louisiana Supreme Court.
In addition to practicing law, Matthew has given numerous seminars on substantive law and litigation techniques. He has taught legal courses at Baton Rouge Community College and River Parish Community College and has donated his time to helping high school students with mock trial competitions.
His accomplishments have been so great that in 2010, he was appointed a Judge Pro Temp of the Ascension Parish Court. That year, he was also named one of the People of Ascension by Eatel.
He has successfully handled cases that have been reported on in the New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and national media. He is often called on by out-of-state clients looking for representation in Louisiana because of his accomplishments.
Matthew is married to the former Alison Bexley and they have two children.
