Shelter Mutual Insurance Company – Our attorneys successfully represented the daughter of a man killed in an automobile accident against an insurance company denying coverage under a technicality in its policy. The case was heard before the Louisiana Supreme Court and the efforts by the insurance company were successfully defeated.

Robinson v. United States of America – The United States Government denied the claim of a young man severely injured when he was struck by a dump truck, which was trying to avoid a United States Post Office vehicle. The court awarded the young man over $3,300,000 in compensatory damages. Attorneys observing the case called the courtroom presentation by our attorneys the best they had ever seen.

Fowler, et al. v. Wal-Mart Stores Inc. – We represented the children of a 90-year-old woman who died as a result of an injury she received when a Wal-Mart employee ran into the back of her leg with a nursery cart causing a significant cut, which ultimately got infected, eventually leading to her death. We received a jury verdict in excess of $1,000,000.

Short v. Plantation Management Corporation d / b / a Golden Age Nursing Home – We represented the children of a 68-year-old woman who had her leg amputated and subsequently died as a result of negligent care at a nursing home in Denham Springs, LA. The case was tried to conclusion and we received an award of over $900,000, ultimately settling the case in excess of $1,000,000.

Serou v. Touro Infirmary – Of the hundreds of death and injury claims filed against New Orleans area hospitals following Hurricane Katrina, Pujol, Pryor & Irwin were the first attorneys to try a Katrina hospital death case in the Orleans Civil District Court. The result was an award of over $1.1 million dollars for the widow and three adult sons of a 68-year-old Parkinson’s patient who died in the aftermath of the storm.

Cline v. Cheema – We represented a lady who tripped on uneven concrete in the parking lot of a Shell station in Belle Chasse, LA. Besides suffering a significant cut to the head, she required neck surgery shortly after the fall. We obtained an award on her behalf of nearly $400,000, which was upheld by the Fourth Circuit Court with the Louisiana Supreme Court denying writs.
